Product Description SAMe is a metabolite of methionine (an essential amino acid). Jarrow Formulas SAMe 200 provides a full 200 mg SAMe (net yield) from 400 mg of SAMe tosylate disulfate. The biologically active form of SAMe is the S,S structure. This formula is made naturally by fermentation and processed without chemical solvents to preserve 68-80% S,S SAMe. SAMe supports the production of healthy connective tissue. Plus, SAMe metabolism supports the synthesis of glutathione, which is critical for antioxidant defenses and liver functions. SAMe methylation reactions are involved in the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine and neurotransmitters such as dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin, and has been shown to have a positive effect on mood.
