They’ve fashioned a version of the classic crossword game that retains its traditional rules and equipment but has been dressed up a bit for the golf enthusiast. It’s a game where «selecting the correct wood» refers to choosing which tiles to put on the grid (colored to look like a putting green) in order to form the highest-scoring words. By taking advantage of the Birdie Letter Score or Eagle Word Score spaces on the board, players attempt to–horrors!–add points to their scorecard. Additional points can be gained by forming words listed in the included golfing glossary of Tee Words (for example, «mulligan» and «buzzard» are good for a 40-point bonus; «pin,» «rake» or «ace» net you 20 points).
