JACK DAY Close up sepia photograph of the Hayloft Hoedown star Photograph inscribed and signed: «To Elsie/Luck/&/Be Good/Jack Day.» Sepia tone, 8×10 overall, image 7½x8¾ (one surface). Day starred on Hayloft Hoedown, a country variety show, in 1948. Entertainer Jack Day began his career by touring for nine years with his brother, Charlie, as acrobats. The duo played the Palace Theatre on Broadway nine times in one year, but they found even greater success when they introduced songs into their act. Jack, who also appeared on the radio and recorded for Columbia Records as part of the Eton Boys, appeared in several film «shorts» as well as two features, Mirrors (1934) and A Great Idea (1935). Day also starred on Hayloft Hoedown, a country variety show, in 1948. Lightly creased at blank margins and corners. Minor surface creases, one at the «&».
